As the battle hour draws near all the brave warriors I know are involved in everything but preparation(probably the lethargy setting in..having eaten a lot at insane hours in a so called attempt to 'stay awake'/(not)'concentrate' during preparation.. but eating habits some other time). For me too, preparation seems to have taken the backseat for a while.I was reading new posts on the blogs of fellow warriors and both of them spoke of more or less the same thing..why do we blog? Not exactly in those words but got me thinking ..decided to look for the answer to why I blog.Thought a good way to tackle the problem would be to try writing an "about the blog"(not the new method employed to solve statically indeterminate problems..anyway thanks for the advice,Sir).Apparently not, that turned out to be too long..hence converted it to a full fledged post.So what follows is the various things I perceive my blog to be or what I'd like it to be.(took great effort in refraining myself from writing Ladies and Gentleman proudly presenting etc etc...and adding this the way comments are added in computer programs..continue reading,it gets better..I promise)
My very own version of Dumbledore's pensieve! Sadly, no audio-visuals. To not only provide the surest way to relive some of the most precious incidents in my life but also help alleviate the pain of others..helped a lot on the second count.
A basin to collect my thoughts(again a la Dumbledore), maybe I'll collect enough here to get myself a ' few pounds for them'.Or better still make a humongous collage of them or hammer out a long chain of beautiful memories with all the pieces/links just right. Then stand back, admire it and thank Pip for the inspiration or maybe Dickens.
A board to put up some of my wackiest creations, after all in this territory,
"I am master of all I survey,
My right there is none to dispute,
From the idea all the way to the post,
I am lord of the word and the truth."
(Really fancy being a Ferris wheel operator as an extension of my oscillating persona.)
As one of the previously mentioned warriors said its all about painting the exact picture for future reference. Probably.Mine is more a postmortem of happenings .
"My sorrows I assuage,
In the ways of my word and truth,
Learn from the wisdom of my age,
(More like shake my head and say why didn't I think of this earlier)
And am cheered by the follies of you-th."
Think I can get back to preparation now(at least pretending I am busily engrossed in it),all smug and calling myself a great thinker having provided more questions than answers.
I won't revolutionize the world with my pensieve but I can view it,crack my knuckles, stretch and say "Freespirit, my lass I have found the reason for your acute hair loss..too much thinking." Then add,"No,seriously writing has made you more serene and reconstruction from this is fun."
Amen.
P.S.With due apologies to William Cowper.
