About Nothing

It's roughly sixteen hours before my next quiz and all I really wanna do is write. Don't have anything earth-shattering to say. So this post, as the title suggests, is about nothing.

Things took a rather unexpected turn last week. For starters, I read a book suggested by mom without cringing or stalling or procastinating. What the heck, I even enjoyed it to the extent of being significantly influenced by it.

The book in question is "The Monk who sold his Ferrari" by Robin S. Sharma. I won't waste anyone's time with my twopence on it. But would recommend it to all the lazy, jobless souls(you gotta be that to be reading this!) who don't mind a little preaching. Don't groan so quickly, it isn't all Sunday-schooly.(for dirt..there's a giant of a sumo wrestler wearing nothing but a pink wire cable :-))

But what distracted me from the meat was the idea that was peddled throughout the book. The idea about working a little towards your dream daily, not waiting till you're future's secure or you secure someone else's future or something else falls into place. Nothing brand new but let me explain.

All I've ever wanted to do is write a book, preferably a best seller. But to me the ideal time to start this was after I'd made enough money to sustain myself in case my book fails. Oh yes, for those of you who are wondering, always fancied an early retirement from an illustrious career in the armed forces or as a hotshot consultant.(the latter's for the moolah, the former, well.. Blame the numerous war/spy/crime books)

Anyway, my professional goals apart, thanks to Julian Mantle and the Sages of Sivana, my mom and maybe, to a certain extent the acquired laziness of this semester, I'm having a baby!!

This one might take way longer than nine months or be out in a jiffy..don't know for sure. But it's definitely caught on.

My book now is more than something I was gonna do sometime in life. It has a well-defined plot, well-etched(hopefully) characters, no title but we'll talk names later . Right now, I'm just delighted!

Might even consider picking up the brush and splashing colours around a bit.

The other surprises last week... A rekindled love for Marathi Songs, my academic courses and playing the guitar, a clean room (after ages..you'd feel the same), an unsatiated appetite (still unsatiated), counting my blessings (for the millionth time but still..)... let's leave it here, shall we?

P.S. This feels good, ship propellers here I come. For those who believe there remains something still untold.. call me. :)
