Yearning to write a love song
Maybe for you, dearest
Or maybe just plain ol' me.
But if I wrote you one,
Would you write one for me?
*****
Wildflowers to my love of the mountains,
Starfish to my love of the sea
But, you, my love of two years last
Deserve the best
And to you I give me.
*****
Are you waiting on me silly boy?
You think it is your attention I crave?
My love of two years last is lost
And it is to him my attention I gave.
*****
There are so many things that remind me of you
The dark, the cold, my fears;
By those I remember your warmth, your voice
And the hands which hold mine always
Still not keen to let go.
*****
I'd love to go back in time
And spend hours sitting next to you
But then I wouldn't know
How it is to miss you and cherish you
And get excited on listening to your voice after days.
*****
Sometimes I disgust myself by becoming all girly and feminine and love-sick. Thankfully such illnesses don't last long. After a good dose of air supply and classic love ballads, I return to listening to mindless Hindi numbers on the radio and the world of Freespirit regains normalcy. Or becomes as normal as it possibly can. Till then some side-effects for your reading pleasure.
