Table-Talk

Moi recently concluded Narayan's "Salt and Sawdust - Stories and Table-Talk". In Narayan's own words, table-talk is the free form of writing without the intention of it culminating in a story or a narrative or an entry into a diary or a vignette. It could be all or none of those.

Moi wonders what it would be like if Narayan lived in the times of blogging and being blogged about. Would he have joined the likes of Mr Amitabh Bacchan and the Khans three? Maybe instead of rubbish on Pages 1-10 (not just 3) we would read how he had written in his trademark style about BIAL and Namma Metro and we would read,"Narayan Sir, I am happy to hear the Truth Printing Press has done so much business." Not, "Amitji, Rani is a better match for your son." Really, live your own lives people!

And we continue to live in hope.
