I think lettuce is overrated. If you've grown up in India and didn't have overindulgent parents who let you eat only potatoes (or only vegetables you liked), you've eaten greener greens than iceberg lettuce. And all my Indian classmates who try so hard to be "healthy" Americans by eating lettuce - the more colorful a vegetable, the better it is for you. Ergo, iceberg lettuce is the least "healthy" lettuce, even if that is the only lettuce you are used to eating.

I love my green veggies. And I don't mean spinach (palak paneer is overrated too). I love Methi (Fenugreeek in English), Amabadi (Gongura in Telugu), Alu (Taro in English), Mula (Radish in English), Lal Maath (no idea what in English but tastes awesome in parathas) and Ambat Chuka way more than any lettuce ever. Even Arugula, Watercress and Kale come a very, very, very distant second.

I miss bhakri (jowar/bajra/rice roti) and green vegetables most of all I guess. Correction, most after pani puri. And the _, pani puri soooo is food.
