Our sweetest songs are those that tell of saddest thought

A big fan of the title a few years ago, I have decided to take the opposite stand now. So, in protest, a collection of some happy tunes. Please free to append to the list.

1. Don't go breaking my heart - Elton John & Kiki Dee
Like I wrote sometime back, it conjures the sweetest images in your head

2. The Happy Song - Boney M
Remember this from all the glorious summers spent in Pune fighting the bees and listening to BoneyM, ABBA and Arun Date

3. Sunny - Boney M
It was my special song on the special CD I made for a special someone

4. Affirmation - Savage Garden

5. Sing - Travis
Of course this one has to be on the list!

6. Ain't No Mountain High Enough - Diana Ross & The Supremes
Oh, I had some amazing times with my cousin singing this all summer long after watching Stepmom

7. And Then He Kissed Me - The Crystals

8. Bubbly - Colbie Calliat
Well, this one will remain special, always. In addition to no. 9

9. Breathless - The Corrs

10. Black & Gold - Sam Sparro
The number of times I've heard this on the radio, going to work! Ah, it goes into my Hall of Fame

11. Only Wanna Be With You - Hootie & The Goldfish
If you listen to closely to the lyrics, you might call it a sad song but I have this interpretation for it given by someone which throws an entire different light on it.

12. Run - Lighthouse Family
Slow, unlike most of the other numbers. It figures here because like No. 1, it brings up the best images and despite the souring of certain relations, memories of happier times

13. Dancing Shoes - Cliff Richard
Dance away your blues!

14. Drops of Jupiter - Train
The song makes no sense at all. But it did temper the wild mood swings of 2002.

15. Hips don't lie - Shakira
You know why!

16. Kung fu Fighting
Like Drops of Jupiter, no sense but makes you infinitely happy

17. Kiss Me - Sixpence None The Richer
I can paint the picture in my head - the hospi road and the KV fence, the streetlight and me breaking the lovely silence by singing this.

18. My Generation - The Who

19. Stayin' Alive - Bee Gees
Ma's favourite. We've had some nice times, driving around town in our car with the radio cranked up to full volume, playing this.

20. Sweet Home Alabama - Lynrd Skynyrd
It reminds me of the scene from the movie with the same name when they play this and all differences are resolved and they start dancing.

21. Toss the Feathers - Corrs

22. Yellow - Coldplay
3rd Year Rock Show, this guy very sweetly danced with his girlfriend a few steps behind me when Parikrama played this. They didn't care who was watching.

23. I wanna be your underwear - Bryan Adams
Now that's a love song!

24. The Zephyr Song - RHCP
I guess it's in the video with the kaleidoscope. I have no idea what the song is about!

25. The Jazz song which I can't remember the name of! And neither can MRL
Like my mom said, it reminds you of all the best times you've ever had - from watching the circus as a child to going on a family vacation.

Songs are in no particular order. I'm sure I've missed dozens.

The interpretation - your first crush, from school maybe, who's grown up but you haven't. Though it didn't end up well, whenever you think of it, you have only the best memories of all your "firsts" - crush, relationship, promises

@ MRL,
You forgot the number of times we listened to "kiss me". I can't for the life of me figure out what's the Jazz number.

What a wonderful world - Louis Armstrong. Good initiative. Made me think for a whole though :)
